No Guts - No Glory
Database: RSM-News 2012 DB (w/ modifications)
Difficulty: Hard
Financial difficulty: Hard
Development of attributes: 0,6
I'll get going when I get home after picking up my computer
Our squad:
Anthony Charteau

The winner of the polkadot back in 2010 is still a very good climber. Anthony has all the skills we appreciate: Always on the attack, good endurance and decent uphill. Because of his limited TT skills, Anthony will be going for the mountain jerseys and stage wins throughout the season.
Best skills: MO 75, HIL 73, STA 76
Alexandre Pichot

This relatively unknown rider will be one of the most important helpers and maybe even captain in some smaller cobble races. Alexandre has also got a good engine, so we should see him at the front of the peloton, and of course on the attack.
Best skills: COB 75, FL 74, STA 75
Angelo Tulik

Young Angelo won't be the rider who will win many races for us, but that doesn't mean he won't be active at the front He is only 21, so expect him to shine in a few years.
Best skills: FL 72, HIL 70
Björn Thurau

A rider similar to Angelo in many ways. However, Björn is two years older than Angelo and he has to take the few chances he will get this season to prove himself in front of the manager.
Best skills: FL 71, HIL 70
Cyril Gautier

Cyril will be one of our most active riders in smaller races where he will go for stage wins and mountain jerseys. In the larger races, Cyril will be a great helper for Voeckler and Rolland.
Best skills: HIL 73, MO 72, END 75, ACC 75
Giovanni Bernaudeau

Gio will have to prove that he's more than just Jean-Rene's son now that he's gone. Gio is decent uphill and will be another helper/breakaway artist.
Best skills: FL 72, HIL 71, MO 70
Yohann Gene

The one and only Yohann Gene became the first ever Black rider in the Tour de France. Our long-term goal is that he should become the first ever Black GT stage winner. To try to make that happen this year, Yohann will be our sprint leader in the Vuelta.
Best skills: SP 76, ACC 77, FL 75

Stage 1

Tulik joined the BOTD of four together with Schillinger, White and Murgo. They took 8.30'' before the peloton decided that enough was enough.

41 km to go: The gap is only 2:45 and Tulik senses that the others aren't as fresh as him and he goes on his own.
However, young Tulik comes up short as the other riders start sprinting for the points at the intermediate sprint. They pass poor Angelo, who drops back to the peloton.

26 km to go: As Tulik gets caught, Thurau tries to bridge the gap to the breakaway. He will get caught 10 km later. The last escapee gets caught 9 km from the line.

7 km to go: Chavanel and his lead-out Pelucchi are sitting on the wheel of Corioni and the Saur-Sojasun train...

However, the train falls behind and our guys have to start the sprint from far behind. Chavanel even loses the wheel of his lead-out man as he starts the sprint..
Ginanni takes the win, Chavanel sprints to 6th. No finish photo, sorry
Results:
1. Francesco Ginanni (Acqua & Sapone)
2. William Bonnet (FDJ) s.t.
3. Kristjan Koren (Liquigas) s.t.
...
6. Sebastien Chavanel (Europcar) s.t. |

Stage 2
Tulik joins the BOTD again and takes max points on the lone climb of the day, which gives him the polkadot(?) tomorrow. They get caught 25 km out.

Chava is well placed in Nizzolo's wheel. However, the high pace kills him...

Young Hurel shows his excellent fighter abilities when taking the polkadot in the rain.

Simon wins, but Gautier makes a great sprint despite his 63 SP for 4th.
GC unchanged.
