I have no words to describe what I just have seen?
It was not in a career but still.

Odd timing - I was just testing sprinting behavior with my editing DB and ran the Champs d'Elysee stage 10-15 times in 3D mode. Every stage was a typical group sprint. I had one with a breakaway that wasn't pulled in till the last 5km and one where a GC rider crashed with 20km to go and just made it back to the main field but no weird breakaway wins. All single stages too, not part of a career.
Much like the other thread on mountain stage results, I can only assume it's related to DBs?
It was eleven more than necessary.

I have never tried that. I think I will tomorrow before the next patch comes out so I can get a good laugh

Breakaways should succeed more often on mountain stages, as it is now they lose to much time uphill, in the tour only one of the mountain stages ended with a (not so) favorite winning.. |

Yeah, I do find it quite disburbing. It always ends up as a pack sprint as inevitably the peleton chases the pack down during the circuits, but everytime i've run it there have been breakaways from the start and a fairly hiigh pace through. Rather then the slowly swilling champage and taking photos etc. |

I had a breakaway win n champs this year. I had no greipel left (I am Lotto Belisol) and was annoyed with tour so I used quick simulation. After it says I did not contributre so it was a break away win. But moreover it was a 1 man break and wom by 8min 22secs |

Incidently, my pprobllem here isnt that a breakaway can win. I've neever seen a breakaway succeed, it the fact the stage is clearly coded like any other stage and is raced as a true stage. Wheras as everyone knows, theres an uunwritten rule that you dont attack on that stage until the ciircuits. I know there have 3 or 4 breakaways in the history of the stage but thety werent launched. At the sttart.
However a solo breakaway suceeding seems utterly hillarious, even if you made no attempt to chase down yourself. |

i always have a man in the break on the champs, and i've won it from the break quite a few times
There's a difference between an all-rounder and someone who is just equally bad at everything

I doubt that it's possible to "code" the stage so it isn't raced like any other flat stage.

If I had to guess, without having any programming knowledge at all, I'd say it's possible (Lachi perhaps can clarify this for us ). But to expect Cyanide to do that? Highly unlikely
Another thing might be that, while it may be simple (if possible) to set the AI to not attack until Champs-Elysee, the PCM buyer who doesn't follow cycling that regularly and only saw some highlights or a couple of stages from the Tour and then bought the game, will be "lolz wut" when seeing that nobody attacks like all other stages. And he'll probably think it's a big bug in the game

I've also tried to do a quick simulation where a breakaway also came out on top with 2 mins |

That is not true at all, you can easily throw a condition in the game to react on events like stage number = 21, then make it more difficult for breakaways
same with the Olympic Games, people asume it's impossible because it only occurs every fourth year but fact is that it easily could be implemented in PCM |
