"Yet another strategic stage, one which could tip the balance in the points classification on its own. Why? Because we have adorned the first part of this long stage (226 km) with the Col de Grand Cucheron and the Col du Granier. The latter will be climbed on its most difficult side. A high pace will knock out the sprinters, favouring riders who are fast and capable of hanging onto the bunch on climbs. We will insist that time limits be applied strictly, so I bet many riders will get fidgety, and some of them will not forget the finish in Annonay any time soon..."

Obvious breakaway stage is obvious. Sagan could fancy his chances, but Liquigas sucks, so if there are more than 0 riders in the breakaway they'll struggle to reel them back.

Sagan has a big chance to increase his lead in the points classification. Get in the breakaway and take it.
Rest in Peace Wouter Weylandt and Xavi Tondo

It looks like it will suit Sagan but you can never rule out a breakaway staying away for the win

why can't we end of that second climb
loop around for a while first, then give a real summit finish |

They're really wasting two nice climbs. This would've been an interesting stage if it was ridden backwards. Now it's yet another breakaway stage.
Meh.

Bit of a weird stage. Will be worth watching from the start, but could be a bit dull for a long time after the Granier

wow a race for the French this year, 3 stage wins (Pinot, Voeckler and Rolland) and 2 riders in the top 10, both future GC contenders. As Harmon said, a purple patch for the French after years without a GC rider to shout about
I think it will be a breakaway win, with Europcar and FDJ both getting wins already, Cofidis and Saur Sojasun will want to do something so I think either Moncoutie if he goes into the break or Simon. Other than that maybe LL Sanchez if he is still hungry for a stage win.
