Hi guys!

Am I the only one having SERIOUS trouble climbing mountains in PCM2012? I've got a rider with 79 MO, so I put him on 75 effort and tells him to go nuts (effort button). Nothing happens. He doesn't even seem to be riding to the very front of the peloton.

Riders with 75/80 MO finish with riders that have 55/60 MO. Something is up. The entire peloton finishes at the same bloody time.

It's sort of the same for sprints.

This is only an issue in 3D gaming. Simulations seem to work fine.

All these problems have been heavily documented by people playing the game, but most of those problems were supposedly fixed in the last patches. Are you playing in Single Race mode, or career? That problem has been found in single race, but not career.

I'm playing career, with Patch 1.2.0.0 and PCM France DB V3. Could be the DB, but I doubt it.

I'm also having the same issues Ithaca, Career, everything patched and fixed and DB updated, no way. I don't have any trouble with Sprints, Puncheur, Hilly and ITT, but....mountain stages are a really pain in the ass. Tried everything, breakaways, holding an effort, counterattacking, etc,.. with nice climbers (riders 79-81) i'm beated by riders of 74-75 at mountain.

I guess that they changed something, i've been playing since lot of years and don't know what can be happening. I would love also if anyone can post his tactics at mountain stages with PCM 12.

I have patched to 1.1.0.3 (downloaded the new one now) and am using this DB (http://pcmdaily.com/infusions/pro_download_panel/download.php?did=845) which is simply the RealName variant of the official patch DB and I certainly don't see the symptoms you describe.

Mountain-top finishes or high cat climbs have realistic results with 2-5 of the top climbers competing and the 20 or so other GC/good climbers fighting out variable distances behind. I've run 30+ mountain stages so far and I've yet to see anything wildly unrealistic apart from Taaramae sticking with Evans, Wiggins and Zroom up the final big alpine climb of the TDF's stage 12.

Seems likely to be a DB issue, no?
It was eleven more than necessary.

I'm not sure if I have to reinstall (the PCM France installed gui and 3d models, etc), but I'll try the realname DB you're playing with.

Yeah, I am quite bothered while i get the 100 men peloton in the mountain stages before the final climb (with 2 hc climbs before). Altough the results at the end are realistic it is still problematic, that the hard pacing doesn't help dashing the riders of the back.

Patch is super crap, 150 man over mountains while you put a 80 climb 80% on head, only riders who lose are your own.

Multiplayers is like speedy freaking gonzales, switching between 1x 2x 4x 2x 4x 2x 1x 4x wtf are they doing why. The patches only make the game worse.

Its really starting to annoy me now, it only seems to happen on certain stages for me. Being tucked in the peleton seems to give weak riders a massive boost.

What have they changed? This is the first edition this problem has occurred for me.

mountain stages also feel like a sprint again, what a freaking wast of a patch, completly destroyed the game.
The game was good it was fun why change it same like mp, add freaking old ladder, add contracts for riders, add excahange possibilities. no nooooooo they add the feature x2 x4 by vote, what arsehole come up with thi crap. Als cant choose host who only play 1x no no now its freaking russian roullette. And i really hate speedup things. before i hosted myself, or played with guys from who you know they dont speed it up. After a long day, you think gona play an nice game and they ruiniedit with a patch.

Told my nephew not 2 buy the game anymore.

Mountain stages are working very good for me (i use 1.1.0.3 and cym spain pack and i play in hard level with 75/74 MON riders) , i use the dot button with an effort of 75/80 and my riders climb so good. I didn't have problem with that.

Is 1.2.0.0. to blame?

I just began playing with another DB than PCM France, and so far my game seems to be acting normally. HAven't had a proper mountain stage yet, but a hilly race did what it's supposed to do, and my sprints worked well again.

Could be the DB. how the f----- that makes sense, I don't know.

Sometimes in single race, if all the GC riders attack all at once, the peloton just sits up basically. you have to recognize this and join the new 30 man group up the road or else you will never catch them again.

True, but that wasn't really the problem. The problem is that nothing happens when climbing. Can't pace, attacking does nothing, and it generally seems as if everyone is just reset to standard-stats. They do look like they have seperate stats, though, so I'm quite sure that's not the bug.

Too many bugs in this game, means confusion Pfft

Its possible that the database you were using was based on one of the older patches that still had that problem, as that explains why it was better when you switched.

I haven't come across this bug before (I haven't really played the game in a week) so I can't say more than you are possibly right in it being a db issue.

In my game riders with 76/77 MO stick with the ones 80+ until the last 3-4 kms of the climb(HC climb at end of the stage ) . After that Andy or Evans attack at there are serious gaps(1 -2 min ) between them and riders with 76/77 MO . I think its quite real .

In terms of the mountain AI, I just did a Tour with the OfficialRelease and Patch 1.2.0.0. Simulated all stages except the mountains.

Rather disappointing. On three stages I tried setting the pace as early as possible with the entire RadioShack team. While some were dropped, I still ended up with a bunch sprint of about 20-25 riders.

I only managed to create 'real' selection on one stage by attacking with both A. and F. Schleck on the first mountain. This led Sky to chase, and that created a front group of about 8 riders.

Anyway, never really cared about single race mode, so hopefully it's better in career. Will try tomorrow.

Wasn't there something posted up a while ago about resistance being far more important than it used to be? I doubt most modded DBs were away of that.
