"We are now in France and ready to start from Orchies, a familiar place for classics specialists. One could be forgiven for thinking we have come for the cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix, but we are actually going to ride straight away from them towards the hills of the Boulonnais. Six big climbs in 100 kilometres, four of which in the last 16 kilometres. This could mark the opening of hostilities in the Tour. There is no way the sprinters will be there at the finish, which will be decided at the same place as the French Championships won by Chavanel. I think the bunch will be smashed to smithereens."

That was quick. This should be an awesome stage. My pick is Sagan, Gilbert or a break. And Hoogerland or Dan Martin in the break?

This should be great. I'd say Chavanel and some others start the fireworks on a flat/descent, and then the show is on. Gilbert to win it.

No point Dan Martin going in the break, he might be able to do something at the finish - maybe not win, but Top 5/Top 10 could be possible.

Plus, almost nothing to gain in the long run for the KoM jersey on climbs like these.

What about Peter Velits? He always gets fairly good sprint results for a "climber".

The final looks like it could suit him for a Top 5 finish, although that is a long shot.

IT doesn't look too steep, but it is an uphill sprint.

I hope Rojas wins anywways.

Chavanel will attack with Voeckler and Gerrans/Albasini on the Mont Lambert. They will have a small gap on the last climb where Gilbert and maybe Valverde will try to bridge the gap Wink

Another Sagan victory. Gilbert 2nd and maybe Valverde 3rd.

This is a beautiful race, many hills in the final 20km, I like it a lot.

Maybe there's a chance for Mollema, Hesjedal or Gesink?

It's gonna be *WAIT FOR IT* Peter Sagan.

I'd really love a Chava Stage win and yellow jersey though!

Too steep for Sagan I think. Gilbert vs. Cancellara for me.

I'll probably have to eat this up though, when Sagan surprises me. Pfft

EDIT: I actually withdraw this statement immediately. Just remembered Chieti in Tirreno. Pfft
