End of season for Andy Schleck?...

But now, the "complete healing of the break could take several months." Schleck's plans for the second half of the season may thus be compromised, and the paper went so far as to saying, "a premature end of season is possible."

So the Vuelta will just be a replay of the 2011 Giro then - Contador taking a billion stages and winning everything.

Which will conclude a perfect season for 2012 as "The year of boring GTs".

Nah. The Tour isn't boring at all. I'm finding it pretty hilarious.

If his season really is over, he'll have scored an enormous 20 CQ points this year.

That's just 2 points less than Vuelta winner (*sigh*) Juanjo Cobo.

With his TDF-only focus, his season was over from the moment he withdrew from Le Tour.

This is probably the most important doping news in cycling in many, many years.

In the USADA-case (by many called the doping case against Armstrong), Dr. Luis Garcia del Moral (cycling team doctor), Dr. Michele Ferrari (cycling team consulting doctor) and Jose “Pepe” Martí (cycling team trainer) have been given life-time bans.

All were important people in the organized team doping that took place at US Postal and Discovery Channel. More importantly, they were still active in cycling (e.g. Del Moral was team doctor at RadioShack),until today.

So for once, it's the people behind the organized doping, and not the riders, who have been taking out. The importance of that can't be underestimated.

USADA now ought to seize their files and the details of who they have worked with, if possible.

That's very nice to hear. Finally lifetime bans Smile
Not that it'll stop them working with riders in secret, as the persistent rumous (and even statements from people involved in the sport) have shown recently that big name riders seem to still be working with Ferrari.

The other guys charged: Celaya, Armstrong, Bruyneel, were also convicted (no sentence length known), but each of them has:

either asked for and been granted a five-day extension to complete their response, or have requested to move forward with an arbitration hearing where all evidence will be presented, witness testimony will be given under oath, and an independent group of arbitrators will ultimately decide the outcome of the case. USADA will continue to follow all of the established procedures that were approved by athletes, the U.S. Olympic Committee, and all Olympic sports organizations in compliance with federal law.

Huge news. I don't know how effective it'll be in preventing riders to work with those c**** (thanks Wiggo), but it's great nonetheless.

Oddly enough, and despite 2 of the 3 are Spanish, this hasn't hit the media in Spain yet. I guess they don't know how to publish this without mentioning Contador yet. Pfft

How many appeals might this sentence face, and how long may it take ? I'll wait a little for the champagne.

Some good people have started investigating the "Lance Armstrong has been tested more than 500 times" claim that we're so used to hearing.

Even when being very generous with the numbers, just 236 tests are counted: http://www.cyclis...f-the-500/.

He may have counted the B samples for all those alleged tests that were subsequently swept under the carpet?

Taken from Inrng on Twitter:
"Rémy di Gregorio will be charged with... illegal injection of glucose. Police raids and scandal headlines and he's been caught using sugar."

"Cycling is one of the rare sports to ban infusions and injections out right with a "no needles" policy."
