Alright, since I haven't got any new answers for 12 hours and we're already 43 participants, I decided to conclude the first round already. Here's the evaluation:
Question 1: Name a river.
The overwhelming answer was The Nile. 21 people named the earth's longest river. The only other answer that actually got a significant number of votes was the Amazon with 13 answers. The other rivers were:
2x Mississippi
2x Rhine
1x Volga
1x Thames
1x Danube
1x Seine
1x Hudson
Question 2: Name a city that is not the capital of its country.
An even more distinct image displayed the answers of the second question. Foreseeable, with 23 votes, the main answer was New York. The only other city that got some more votes was Barcelona, with 8 mentionings. Furthermore:
3x Milan
2x Rotterdam
2x Sydney
2x Munich
1x Liverpool
1x Pittsburgh
1x Nice
Question 3: Name a mountain chain.
Third question, same story: One major, one minor and some more answers. With 23 votes, the Alps got most votes. The Himalaya has at least 11 votes. The others are:
3x Rocky Mountains
3x Pyrenees
2x Andes
1x Dolomites
Question 4: Name a country whose flag has not more than two colours.
This was, not surprisingly, by far the most distinct question. Not a single country got more than six votes. This also means that eventually, this question was crucial for the first final rankings. But first of all, here are the votes.
6x Poland
6x Denmark
4x China
4x Spain
4x Sweden
4x Canada
4x Japan
3x Ukraine
2x Libya
2x Switzerland
1x Germany (someone may not have read the question carefully enough )
1x England
1x Monaco (probably the most exotic of all answers)
1x USA (turns out most people do think white is a color )
Question 5: Name a country in Central America.
This question was a bit the average of the other questions. There was still a predominant answer, in this case Mexico, but the second most chosen answer, Costa Rica, was at least close. Also, the third answer got at least five votes.
17x Mexico
12x Costa Rica
5x Panama
2x Honduras
1x Nicaragua
1x Jamaica
1x Guatemala
1x Brazil
1x Argentina
1x Equador
That leads us to the rankings. The Top 5 have already gained a small advantage over the rest of the participants and some might already have lost all of their chances for a good overall placement. Here you go:

So let's not lose any time and continue to round two:
I'm with stupid: cunego59's Round 2
Holidays
Since summer's hopefully about to strike soon, the next round is all about vacations. The first, but most important choice is quite obviously:
1. Name a popular holiday destination.
Once we know where we're going to spend our holidays, we have to decide how we get there:
2. Name a transportation vehicle.
Of course there are numerous types of holidays and everyone has different preferences. But what are the possibilities?
3. Name a typical holiday activity.
No matter where you go, how you get there or what you're going to do, some things have to be there.
4. What mustn't be absent during your holiday trip? (Not sure if it's clear enough: I'm looking for an object that you wouldn't want to miss on your vacation ).
After a long day, when you know you don't have to work tomorrow, you might as well allow yourself a nice evening at the bar.
5. Name a drink.
I hope that these questions won't have as clear results as the last ones. I'm looking forward to see what you'll answer this time.
You'll have time to send me your answers until tomorrow (13th of June), 18:00 CET.

I tempted to take Mexico but wiki says it`S not really Central America. Bad round for me with some easy answers. Also wanted to take Barcelona and Himalaya but picked Munich and Andes instead...
Next round must be better.

This round is way harder than last round, and I thought I did well last round only to be middle of the pack. I expect to be near the bottom after round 2

A question on the holiday destination question.
If I say North Korea and somebody else says Pyongyang, how does that work?
Pyongyang is in North Korea, but technically, its 2 different answers

Yeah, I thought of that problem. I've decided to split that. That means a region isn't the same as the country. Someone who says North Korea won't get points for someone else's Pyongyang, and vice versa. If you have a country with numerous different possible destinations, you'll have to think if more people will vote for the country or for the specific region/location/city. In my opinion, that is the fairest possibility, and it guarantees more different answers.
and @Avin, I'm really sorry for that. But I really didn't expect that many applicants and so I thought it would be okay to make a cut here. Next time

Not Central of South America.
It`s Central America and so there is no Brazil or Argentina included.

Damn, should've picked the Alps instead of Himalaya. It was between those two, and I clearly chose the wrong one. Same with the river.
Oh well, hope to do decent in round two as well. This was harder though.
