Liquigas is going to win this stage no matter what happens. If the break stays away, it'll be easy for Oss, if not, then Sagan.

Sagan has shown talent since his very first days in the pro ranks, and even before he became a pro. Since then, he's had a progression which seem pretty natural, steadily improving his skills. Of course, this is pro cycling, so you never know, but there's no possible comparison between Sagan and UK Postal.

I agree with you, I belive Sagan's clean, he's a natural.
But Sky has a lot of talented riders on their team, they all proved they're capable of doing what they're doing, I don't suspect nothing of them.

This + in 2008 Sagan won junior MTB WC and came second in cyclocross junior WC, that shows his enormous versatility. Also as he is my compatriot (despite me living in czech republic for a long time) i followed his career for some years and progress is sumpremely fast, but still belivable.
Also one fun fact is,that as the junior mountain biker, he was able to broke more bike frames in half because of his raw power, than rest of the riders together. Even more funny is that in the early years he was riding in t-shirts and tennis shoes and still was winning. He even won the MTB race which he rode on his sisters bike bought in the supermarket Smile

Vladimir Isaychev (Katusha), Daniel Oss (Liquigas-Cannondale), Salvatore Puccio (Sky), Klaas Lodewyck (BMC), Ruben Perez (Euskaltel-Euskadi), Sebastien Minard (AG2R) and Karsten Kroon (Saxo Bank ) in the break.

With 85km to go, it is now up to 9:41

And not too much surprise - a crash only 21 km into the stage took out Ivan Velasco of Euskaltel. He has gone to hospital with a suspected fractured collarbone. Wish speedy recovery.

Good move by Liquigas, Oss should be the favourite from the group.

Shame, but I guess they're called bleeding carrots for a reason.

It's looking good for another Liquigas victory anyway, although this time it could be Oss.

Bleeding carrots? I never heard of that, is Euskaltel called that way?

I think it was Matthew Lloyd which called them like that during a recent Tour de France. It feels so appropiate for them. Pfft

From the little I saw and heard he had to do a fair bit of chasing in the last 20km as attacks went and others left it to him to chase. He then found himself at the front in the last 500m leading out the sprint and appeared to have absolutely nothing in the tank.

The strongest man in the break took the win in the end having only just managed to bring back the front 3 in the last few metres.

Notice that a moto helped them to get back on their breakaway's companions.

Yes but that was a common theme throughout the last 20km that I watched Smile

After the 3 v 3 split I think Oss would have kept the pace a bit higher on another day and still won the 3 up sprint. When he sat up the other 2 were never going to tow him to the line and that gave the 3 chasing the chance they needed. Like I say I think the strongest on the day took it with 4 of the 6 looking like they were on the ropes by the end.
