Does anyone know if Cyanide has ever considered releasing the game for Mac? its fast becoming the computer of choice over the PC. I think the game could look really cool on a Mac!

No it's not. Here's a really cool suggestion: try building your own PC from the ground up. Not only can you save a load of money compared to buying Apple products, you also get loads of extra functionalities, no invasive user agreements and to top it all off, you learn a lot about how systems work.

I really hope Cyanide gets their priorities straight and releases a 64-bit version of the game before even considering doing something like this.

Mac holds something along the lines of 5 % of the market. And a fair percentage of those 5 % have Windows installed.

It's no wonder Cyanide doesn't care about Mac.

I guess you guys aren't from the States...

I should have been more specific in my original post. Apple is BECOMING the more favorable option for a computer in the United States. They will start to expand more Internationally in the coming years so just wait.

Neither is Cyanide. And their main market is Europe (but I have no idea how much % of PCM buyers are from the USA).

Yeah you're definitely right lluuiiggii. I would be interested to see that percentage. I think I'm the only person in my friend group that knows anything about cycling, and I am not a cycling expert. I follow the ProTour and that's about it.

If cyanide could port the game over to mac with ease I'm sure they would have done it already Wink

fact is that the game engine (and therefore the game too) is created with the Directx API developed by Microsoft. Directx does not support the Mac OS for obvious reasons. In order to create the game for mac cyanide would have to rewrite anything from 60-99% of the game and they certainly does not have the ressources available to do so.

hopes this cast some light on the matter, cyanide ain't evil, they're just limited by their design choices.

If you're desperate (and a little sad like myself) you can use Wineskin. i created a PCM 09 wrapper with a 2011 db - runs great on any recent Mac (I use it on a Macbook Air). I used bootcamp before that... too much hassle and a lot of disk space to give up for one game.

I have a MacBook Pro - I had to bootcamp my old MacBook to run PCM. Sounds exciting how does Wineskin work?

Otherwise I have to bootcamp my MBP so I can play PCM !

basically you install wineskin winery and run the install exe file for PCM. It creates an app that will run much like any other mac app (and I think is how a lot of game companies are porting their games to mac currently). Just did a quick screen capture while running it...

The video capturing seemed to effect performance though... without that it starts up much quicker and the in-game runs smoothly.

I should point out before anyone spends any time on it... PCM 10 and 11 will not run in wineskin on any mac.

I have a PC, its just because I've started to use my mac more and more and its my prefferred system now I don't see myself upgrading my PC anytime soon and I am just afraid that I won't be able to keep up with the newer and newer games (not just PCM)

I'm on the cusp of getting PCM 11 to work with Wineskin on a Mac. Or at least it feels like it. But maybe a few pointers from @alisdairmills could help me.
What version of Wineskin are you using and which engine in Wineskin did you successfully use with PCM 09?

Ok. Assuming people got PCM 09 to work via Wineskin, can you please share the specific details leading to your success? Engine? Method?
