This will be a continuation of my David Veilleux story in the PCM10 section! The season will begin in 2014 and I will follow both riders now! So this is still very much David Veilleux!

You can read my David Veilleux story to get an idea of where this is starting from.

About me

Hello everyone. I was born on November 26th, 1987 in Cap-Rouge, Québec, Canada, making me 24 years old.

As any normal kid in Canada, especially in la Belle Province, I was addicted to hockey at a young age. I also played soccer, judo, baseball and Alpine Skiing, so I was very active at a young age. I soon became very interested in Motocross, however my parents didn't give me consent to participate in that sport because they felt it was too dangerous so I turned to Mountain Biking, and thus my cycling career began!

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/david.png

I would ride my bike everywhere, and I was out everyday looking for new jumps and things for my bike. I had thought racing would be a good idea, but I didn't know such a thing existed until a small sports store opened just down my street, and I instantly signed up for my first race. I also joined a club there, and got my first taste of training, and racing bikes. In my first year, I did very well. Because the age categories are cut off on December 31st, I was racing with riders a year older than me, so they had a physiological advantage on me. My first race I came 4th overall, and the rest of the year, I consistently placed very high, so I knew I had the natural ability.

When I was 14, I signed up for a Cycling program in the Sport and Studies school, and my parents helped support me even though the school was 30km away from my town. I met Francis Paradis and he introduced me to all disciplines of the sport, although I had no interest for Road racing at the time. But that changed after a winter of training with Francis. I became interested in road cycling!

My first road race I went full throttle at the sound of the gun. I realised I had to ride in the pack, so I drafted for almost the entire race before making a useless attack and finishing dead last. As my first road season went on, I found less interest in Mountain Biking, and more and more in road.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/david1.png

2nd season, I quit MTN biking to devote all my time to the Road. My Dad bought be a Louis Garneau bike and I was able to join Élicycle-Sport Experts , and I even had the chance to meet Mr. Garneau himself, who helped me with some advice. In my 2nd race of that season, I took the win.

The next few seasons, high finishes became a regularity for me, and I was now on Jittery - Joes a semi-pro team. They offered me a great structured racing schedule but by the end of the season, I felt a move was needed, so I moved on to Kelly Benefits.

The atmosphere within that team was great and I won the U23 National Title for both Road and TT, so I was very happy. At KBS, I wanted to race a more North America circuit so that I could stay close to home and finish my bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering too. But in 2010 I felt I was ready to move on in my career, so I went to Europcar and I finished in a great position in Paris Roubaix the hardest day of racing on the whole cycling calendar.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/dv.png

My Style of riding I think is an all-rounder, kind of like Paolo Bettini. I think I can climb fairly well, and I can sprint well. I'm also good on the cobbles, and my TT is by far my strongest area, so I just hope I can keep improving really. My hope is to race in the Tour de France and win as many stages as I can along the way. Winning Monuments would also be great.

Welcome to my Blog section! In here, you will be able to see my latest Blog entry, as well as an archive of all my blogs. With the success of it last year, I will also probably be bringing back the "Ask David" segment, although I will have less time to answer off-topic question, and I'd really appreciate if the questions were cycling oriented, or had something to do with me.

On this site, you will be able to find my latest results, general news about me, you can get a recap of my previous seasons, and there will also be my race calendar for the season. I will release my traning schedule and keep track of my best results. Not only that but I will introduce you to my team-mates and have brief reports on some of the more important races that I dont participate in. I can't forget about any news Regarding my team, as well as a summary of the Current Pro Tour teams.

This may seem like a lot to cover for one person, but I think I will be able to manage, and I hope you guys enjoy it, as I like doing this type of thing.

This is a very sad day. I don't really know if I can go on anymore. Goodbye cruel world...

I do understand that it's easier to do a story on a climber like David B.(althoug, to be quitwe honest, I see David B. as an all rounder too) than an all rounder like David V., but I can't help feeling like there was a death in my family.

Veilluex was something that got me started on daily, one of the first stories I read, and the longest I've followed. I always use him now, just because he's become one of my favorite riders. I feel like a part of me is gone, and I'm sure a lot of other people feel that way. There's a reason that The Next Canadian Legend was a story of the year nominee.

I don't know if I can follow out of loyalty and respect to the great story, but good luck with David Boily.

P.S. Were't you going to wait till PCM 12 came out to start another story?

Don't need to say good luck. Pfft Just that I hope this will go on for a long time like Veilleux did. Sometimes, when you don't find motivation, it's better to let go, and find something new. One David is over, but a new one has just arrived. Smile

Alakagom - Thanks! That is still going, just very infrequent updates Pfft

Sutty - Thanks!

Baseball - If that was your last ditch effort to get David back, its worked well Wink Sad Believe me, it is a sad day for me too. I may or may not have cried when I went back and read the story today with the thought of ending it. Smile But sometimes, things happen for a reason, and its not like I dont love Veilleux, or that I dont miss the old days, of that story, but it hasn't gone very far and like I said I have ruined it myself.

I have some good news though, and I have found a way to fix this problem. Basically I will write this, as if both of them share the blog.

So it will be a two-rider story!

Sky Spidertech will never have happened. And Veilleux will just have joined Spidertech!

This crazy idea just came to mind as I was (easily distracted) doing some homework.

I hope that sounds alright, as I just cant let go of David V either.

BTW, when I first made my Veilleux story last year, it was between these two Wink

Jesus Christ. I feel as if my dead family member has just been revived!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin (not enough emotes to express this)

This should be interesting, as I don't think a two rider story has ever been done before, so good luck. So now the third part of Veilluex Begins!!!!! Smile

P.S. I wantedf David to go to Spidertech anyway. Wink

Just forget about my other PCM 11 Veilleux thread Shock

And thanks guys! Great to see you here! I'm in the process of getting to season 2014 now, and then I'll begin team previews and after that, get to the racing!

I get to be David. I also get to be David Boily, and I get to be Spidertech, a small team, and it will kinda be like having two stories in one thread!

My god if I lost David I might die. The story was probably the first one I ever looked at and truly enjoyed reading, and looked forward to the next post. Wink I've never heard of Boily, so it will be great to get to know him.

So excited. Grin
