Will be hard for our guys to do anything other than to get in some breakaways, and it will be very interresting to see the Alarcón vs Valverde duel, but VDB might snatch it due to his TT-skills. Will be an amazing race to follow Grin

I see you sent Gaywood a lead out man. Pfft

What a loaded field - I am pretty sure all the guys who entered their stars thought they would get some easy points. When you consider the HC rated Langkawi (10 days) was a fair bit weaker and the 7 stage HC rated San Luis wasn't quite a strong either.

That said Austria has some pretty prestigious climbs and has good history so rightly punches above its weight.

I didn't - I expected a good field here.

Alarcon has got lots of race days so a bit of a given he would be here. Should have more chance this race too as we go up a mountain on stage 2. And it will of course suit Rujano too.

Valverde beat Pozzo at San Luis - hope Pozzo can return the favour here.

how many days still Pozzo, Alarcon and VdB still have left? it´s pretty annoying to meet with them every single race when Rujano participate Grin

Van Den Broeck will after this race participate in Burgos, Urkiola and Brixia.

I'm expecting Valverde to deliver in the spanish ones, and Pozzo in Brixia, so this one seems to be his best shot for glory... despite the incredible field Smile

That doesn't sound promising for Alarcon. Hopefully I found a bargain for him in Swaziland, somehow the European races draw more attention than races on other continents, so hopefully Alarcon can do great there.

But for this one, I'm not really convinced he will be top 5, that TT is too long for him Pfft

But we shall see, hopefully none of the favourites crash or get caught behind in a split, then I think Rujano will grab the overall glory.

After this Pozzovivo is just about done. Has Brixia and Urkiola Igoera. Hope he can win this one. Pfft

Alarcon has something like twice the race days of Pozzo and Rujano. Pozzo had a massive total of 33 - him messing up San Luis wasted a chunk of them.

Since everyone is asking, will any of the top climbers be joining Igor Anton in the Tour of America? (Really hoping to get some easy points there Wink )

well, those "easy" points are quite devalvaded by extremely huge race days...btw I think at least Tinkoff will have their A team there, as Oleg made those stages (if I´m not mistaken) Wink

Yeah I know, but I want to say I won that race when my team's major focus is on GTs. If I can get that one out of the way in my first year, then really go after promotion next season. Well, that's the goal

Well, weaker field and more opportunity means that for some teams, it will be a much better 21 race days spent than alternative options.

Oleg made the PCM09 route for me. This year's version was made by another stagemaker - although the route is broadly similar as the start and finish towns were taken from the 'official' Tour of America website. Tinkoff arent riding this year.

Team leaders for it are probably: Vasquez, Nicacio, Navarro, Sicard, Kiserlovski, Sano, Random Proximus rider, Soler, Kessiakoff

But this doesnt have much to do with Austria Pfft

Youre safe from Valverde in Burgos. This is actually Valverde's last stage race - 3 classics to come and thats it for him.

Hopefully we have plenty of interest in GT wildcards from this year's new CT teams - only 4 teams applied for GT wildcards this year!

Amazing startlist in Austria, this should be great to watch. Also nice to see another D2 mixed team, i hope that the team could do something in a sprint or break maybe, good luck boys! Smile

Also we have mixed more Laverde boys into one, this one is not the leader from Guatemala iirc?

Yep different Laverde. The other one was Laverde Jimenez of Petrobras.

Obviously I have some luck when reporting races with my own team.
Surely an amazing day for Rothaus having all jerseys but the KoM. Novak definitely had a +5. He outsprinted Dupont on the first KoM, sprinted with the best at the intermediates and won the sprint. No way without a +5.

Now I have to hope that the next stage will be different than in Luxembourg, where my leaders waited for the yellow jersey. Will play the next stage later today and I am already very afraid of seeing Ruijgh falling back to help Novak. Angry

Horrible for D2 there, better chance of using being in breaks after losing time though.

Well done to Rothaus, although we should be kicking ourselves for not putting any men in the break.

What a stage... I can't say that I relaxed under that report (well done Roturn, it was pretty dramatic and you got all the details Smile ), though I'm happy the team somehow managed to keep VDB in contention for the race - Though I fear he will suffer a bit after that crash.

Dupont did well, excellent to see him up there!

Hahaha, sure mate Wink

But, kinda dissapointing effort from all our guys today. We'll hope for better stages in the coming days Smile
