You are inching closer and closer to that first victory, keep up the good work!!

Thanks guys for the support. Indeed, it felt great to sprint on the podium.
Hopefully you´re right, that the win isn´t far away anymore.
@Jeronen Would be awesome, I´ve already played stage 4 and 5, so you can expect some updates later. |

Today was the big chance for Boasson Hagen to get his first season win on a very flat stage. The competition is quite good so far but we´re still optimistic to get that win.

A bigger group was in front today with some famous names, such as Chichi, Napolitano, Oss, Förster, Guarnieri and the young talent Demare. Oss made a great job, which brought him the KoM jersey. The group was caught within the last 20 kilometres.

So the time for the sprint preperation had started with 10 kilometres left. Our sprint train was in front but bad news, because our leader in the jersey for the best young rider wasn´t there. Boasson Hagen was not able to join his team mates as he was blocked.

That brought us another disappointing result today. Eddy only took the 9th position while Matt Goss was celebrating a nice sprint win over Bozic, Greipel and Boonen.

Today is the big chance for the puncheurs or sprinters with some hilly skills like Boasson Hagen! The stage finish is not that easy with a short uphill during the last 3 kilometres.

As always some guys tried to get away from the pack. With success! A bigger group was built today with Duque. Could be a nice stage for him, if they´re going to survive there.

Within the last 15 kilometres after we passed the Old Willunga Hill for the first time, there was some action at the front. The break was just caught, then we had the first attack by Dimitriy Muravyev (Astana).

But then the last climb started and Pavel Brutt was the first one, making a serious move. Monfort tried to counter that one and we knew we had to react quickly. Boasson Hagen was trying to follow them but he wasn´t able to accelerate a lot.

Because of this it was Pavel Brutt, taking an impressive stage win after he already finished on the second position some days ago. Pineau and Millar complemented the podium for today, while Boasson Hagen finished on an average 6th position. Anyway, he improved his overall placement, he is 5th now!

So let´s start another nice race this month. This time we´ve sent our team squad with 8 riders to San Luis in Argentina. With Appollonio we´re able to compete in the bunch sprints and I´m sure there will some chances.
Sergio Henao was our captain previously but his shape seems to be not good enough at all. Because of this, another good man is going to take part in this stage race, it´s Danny Pate. His current shape is way better and we´re looking forward to his performance. Jeremy Hunt and Alex Dowsett are some nice decent puncheurs for the sprints.
The overall GC will be an exciting fight, as there are some famous names. Such as Rui Costa, Seeldraeyers, Sella, Kern or Arroyo. So this is going to be a nice decision in the mountains and of course don´t forget the time trial which is very good for Danny Pate. Let´s hope for a successful stage race in Argentina for Team Sky! |

You should be able to get a Top 10 with Pate, maybe a Top 5?

Once again, thanks Hope we can perform well in San Luis.

The opening stage is quite flat with a nice finish for the sprinter teams. We´re looking out for a stage win here with Davide Appollonio. Project 1t4i might be our biggest opponent with Roger Kluge and especially John Degenkolb so it´s gonna be an exciting bunch sprint hopefully.

The pace of the main field was controlled by Sky, Europcar and Project 1t4i for the whole stage. The breakaway was brought back early with still 30 kilometres to go.

With exactly 5 kilometres to go, something terrible happened in the first part of the peloton. Maybe the most devastating crash I´ve ever seen in PCM so far.

There were also some Sky riders down with Sergio Henao, Pucchio, Rowe and Dowsett. Do you remember, when I told you Henao might be the captain? Thanks to god, we decided to send another leader with Danny Pate to Argentina. Almost every team leader was down there and lost over one minute. At least the weather was great.

A group of 18 riders was in front after this crash including Danny Pate, Appollonio and Hunt. The only real sprinter there was Chavanel from Europcar without any team mate. So this was the big chance to get the first win this season.

Jeremy Hunt was the one, leading out Davide Appollonio but on the right side came Chavanel really fast. This is going to be dramatic for Sky!

This is such a shame for us. We lost this stage to Chavanel, who was sprinting on his own without any help. Our train was good but Appollonio made his move too late. Well, we´re not able to win even this stage. Anyway, the overall is very interesting after this crash, because our captain Pate is the only contender in the first group there.
