Movistar deserved the win today as they worked hard during the stage, Valverde just finished it off for them. Never really sen him race before, but nice to see him having a go in his first race back in almost 2 years.

Anybody else see Paul Sherwen interviewing a crying Valverde in half english half italian?

I'm amazed Valverde understood any of that.

You gotta respect Valverde. He's barely been back a few days, should really be taking it easy, getting used to the rhythm, he's down at the Tour of Who Gives a Shit that doesn't matter in the least especially to a spanish team, yet he's still giving all he's got.

Doping aside, this is the kind of rider the sport needs more of.

Even though I still feel a bit suspicious about him, I have to agree.

And, he's really entertaining to watch. Therefore it's actually nice to have him back. I just hope we can trust him this time.

Yeah Valverde! Smile
Pity that he is not in the lead, hopefully he will go for some bonus tommorow.
Maybe Valverde was(or is) a prick, but he loves to ride and to entertain us...
And i have won a bet finally.

Here's a video of the sprint:

YouTube Video

Great results for many riders, Valverde gets a win, GreenEdge the leaders jersey, Dennis as 5th must be great for him, and finally 3rd should be a good result for Machado and RSNT.

Can you sincerely believe it was the first time he had his blood there and never used other blood or products to dope ?
As Basso, I guess he was so unlucky to have had his blood stored there just the one time when the cops went in and seized everything.

None of us even mentioned Gerrans when we were picking our favourites, but he is obviously in terrific shape this season. I expect him to make some noise in the Ardennes.

Somehow I expected Valverde to be this strong already. He's been training like a madman during his suspension. He never really left Movistar and kept training a lot with the team.

Gerrans is very motivated at the moment, being the national champion riding for a new team in his home country.

Where's Danny Pate? Pfft

He actually finished on 14th which I found very impressive, due to the amount of work he has done at the front of peleton trough TdU and even on this stage he was at the front too pulling. But I am not going to say a word mroe about Pate v Rogers. Almost sick of it Pfft

So I go to sleep and wake up to see 1) Wacky Bush once again going on and on about Danny Pate despite having absolutely zero evidence / arguments to back up his claims, 2) people praising the innocent Valverde who has apparently been the victim of a miscarriage of justice.

Interesting...

Some great highlights, though. Real racing in January? Can't complain about that.

Wait till Tour San Luis for that Pfft The first MTF is coming soon.

Valverde crying in the interview was nice to see, showed how much that meant to him.

Phil and Paul were hilarious at times, calling TdU a GT at one point : " Nathan Hass going for his first GT victory" ( or soemthing like that ) Pfft

After Paul pointed out a Lion of Flanders flag by the side of the road, Phils response "I would say they are immigrants"
