Crazy stuff.
Now imagine the (very possible) quarter final Germany-Greece. We'll get our money back, one way or another

Netherlands-Czech Republic won't be a bad draw either

People before today said it was impossible for Russians not to go trough this group with 1st place
So I wouldn't be sure about anything tomorrow either

I had Russia and Poland to go through in my pre-Euro predictions. My awesome clairvoyance skills strike again!

I'd say that they aren't ranked 62nd by FIFA for nothing. Having 2 or 3 good players isn't enough, sadly for them.
The FIFA ranking is quite doubtful when it comes to comparing teams from different continents, especially on the lower places.
Sierra Leone, Honduras, Panama, Gabun, Armenia are in front of Poland.
Mostly because Poland have played 0 official matches for the last two years and friendlies do not count for FIFA ranking.

I kinda hope Germany destroys them, like 4 or 5-0. It might not be good for the political and social situation, but I'm starting to get really, really annoyed by their style of playing football. That's just so unattractive. And although I don't want deny them a certain skill in defending, there also quite a bit of luck involved most of the time. Someone has to finally show them that this sort of playing isn't always effective...

Czech was well-deserved. They played decently and Poland was pretty bad. Greece had, if I saw that correctly, mainly one successful attack just before halftime. The rest of the time, it was Russia desperately trying to break through the Greek Wall. Although, to be fair, Greece should have gotten a penalty and had some chances, but it was about 20-5 shots for Russia (maybe a bit exaggerated ).

Actually the shots were 31-8, but the majority of Russia's shots were hopeless efforts from long range. They only had one very good scoring chance after Greece scored. |

This has been one of the most thrilling Euro Champs I've seen. So much drama everyday! And we're still in the group phase!
It's just a shame Russia has been eliminated. They were one of the best teams imo but somehow managed to be defeated by a far inferior side. Anyway congrats to Greece, in all honesty one has to reckon they've really become the best at this kind of scheme.

Never believed I' will say that Poland is like Spain - old school Spain that is - playing like never, losing as always. Today's match was a shame, but this is the first tournament in 30 years when I've seen Poland fighting foir a score and not demanding it. Gives a little hope I guess...
Anyways, we're not out of this yet! Tomorrow we'll be all Irish. On Monday we'll support the Croats. And on Tuesday we'll stand behind Ukrainians. That's because, we'll keep on supporting the countries with similar history and attitude, and once it goes to quarterfinals we'll stand behind the worse against the better. Cuz that's how we are.
Polish fans still in the Euro! |

TBH I do not believe in Ukraine go through. They got their 3 points in what would seems as a hopeless group, shown some good football, resurrected Sheva, but they're just not good enough for ENG and FRA. Still, I'll support them to the last minute as I did today. Just for the fact that it will be fair for our co-hosts. |
