Good luck with restart. This story is one of the best, even though a bit in-famous, maybe because it was on PCM09, so I hope this story get's the attention it's worth now. Wink

Some strong goals here, but I think all of them can be achieved. The hardest look to be the two on top. A win at the Tour should be fun to try and achieve. And the other one forces Larsson to have to defend his title at the Amgen Tour of California. Overall, it should be a very entertaining season with these goals.

Sony Ericsson Outlook

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Sponsors/EricssonConfidence.jpg
i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Sponsors/EricssonGoals.jpg

Sony Ericsson goals aren't as tough, but they certainly could cause problems. Especially the last one of wearing the yellow jersey at the Tour. But even they are skeptically and only rate this a one star goal because of the luck needed to achieve it. Also, unseen from these goals are the fact Sony Ericsson wants Larsson to try and defend his World ITT Championship at the end of the year as well, and have expressed they are willing to provide more money next year if he wins.

That's it for now, ProTour and Continental Previews are Coming Up Next.

The tour goals(Stage win and Leaders Jersey) are really hard stage win a bit less then the leaders but hopefully you can do it Californa one might be a bit impossible depending what other riders are going:/ Rest seem doable though so good luckGrin!

Tour de San Luis - Stage 1

January 17, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Profile.jpg

Our Riders
i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Riders.jpg

The first tour of the year is especially important because it is also a goal race.
EA is looking for the mountain jersey after these 7 stages,
so we have brought a couple of options to achieve the goal.
Including Philip Deignan, Jimmy Licina, and Fredrik Kessiakoff.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Breakaway.jpg

And it's Jimmy Licina in his first professional race
that jumps into the breakaway.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/KoM.jpg

But he lose out on the sprint for the mountain points on the only climb today.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/SprintPoint1.jpg

The breakaway is caught right before the first sprint point, and Jake Keough gets a great leadout from Delobel and they cross 1-2.
Both receiving time bonuses.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/SprintPoint2.jpg

But by the last sprint point three riders have broken off the front,
meaning the final fight will be heading into the finish.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/5kmtogo.jpg

With 5kms to go a bunch sprint is upon us.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/1kmtogo.jpg

Jake Keough is struggling to find a fast wheel.
While in front Jimmy Casper is getting a great leadout.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Finish.jpg

And Casper wins this one easily. Keough takes 21st,
but moves into 4th overall with the sprint check point.
And as a bigger surprise, Delobel stays in the peloton to take 7th overall.

Tour de San Luis - Stage 2

January 18, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Profile-1.jpg

A lot of KoM available today, so expect a EA-Sony rider in the breakaway. But the finish also favors Kessiakoff and Deignan as well.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/PetersonBreakaway.jpg

Thomas Peterson creates the first headlines when he goes on a solo ride to start the day, but he is later caught and passed by a sprinting Jimmy Casper at the first sprint point.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/DeignanBreakaway.jpg

With the two climbs up ahead, Philip Deignan gets into today's second breakaway with three other riders.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Climb1.jpg

He picks up 2 points on the first climb finishing 3rd.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Climb2.jpg

And adds 4 more points with a 2nd on the following climb.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/DeignanBreaksFree.jpg

Deignan goes off on his own trying to win the first race of the season just like he did last year.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/20kmtogo.jpg

And with 20kms to go, he has a chance at the solo win.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/10kmtogo.jpg

But he hits the wall with 15kms to go, and the peloton brings him back.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/KessiakoffAttack.jpg

The road gets narrow as we hit the incline, and Fredrik Kessiakoff doesn't waste anytime going on the attack.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/CostaCounter.jpg

Rui Costa tries to counter the move, but bad positioning by Costa gives Kessiakoff a 30 second advantage early into the climb.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/1kmtogo-1.jpg

Q: Congrats on getting the first win of the year for the team, what is the possibility you hold to the leader's jersey for the rest of the tour?
A: Thank you, I'm glad I could get the first win early. And I want to think I can hold onto the jersey but the mountains later in the race could hinder my chances.

Tour de San Luis - Stage 3

January 19, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Profile-2.jpg

The team will have to work hard today to make sure a breakaway doesn't get clear to keep Kessiakoff in yellow. And they should receive help from Saur - Sojasun trying to give Jimmy Casper a chance for his second stage win.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/SprintPoint1-1.jpg

A small breakaway does get clear, and early into the stage at the first check point they only hold a 1'30'' lead.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/SprintPoint2-1.jpg

The breakaway grows in size by the second sprint point, and also pulls their lead out to 3 minutes.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/BreakawayLastAttack.jpg

But when Saur - Sojasun takes up the tempo with 25kms to go, the breakaway is forced to attack each other in desperation.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/10kmtogo-1.jpg

But they can't hold on and the sprint trains take over the front. And everyone is looking to grab Casper's wheel.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Finish-2.jpg

Keough loses the battle for Casper's slipstream and sprints home in 17th. But at the line Casper mistimed his launch and Sacha Modolo edges him out on the line. And EA-Sony can walk away happy today with Kessiakoff in yellow for another day.

Q: You had a great position with 5kms to go, what happen out there?
A: A lot of pushing and elbows flying in the air. I went from being right behind Casper with 3kms to go, and by the time we reached the last 1000 meters I swear I was hit at least 5 times by guys trying to push me out of the way. Hopefully the race organizers will review the tape and warn some of these guys, becuase if they don't stage 7 could easily end in a massive crash while sprinting to the line on the last day. And nobody wants to see that.

Tour de San Luis - Stage 4

January 20, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/Profile-3.jpg

Before we can get to the climbs,
a time trial might give Costa a chance to steal yellow.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/1-Tuft.jpg

The Canadian national ITT champ Svein Tuft heads out early and post a good time of 25'31'', but is unable to beat
current leader Dominique Cornu who holds the best time at 25'26''.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/2-Marquez.jpg

Alejandro Marque fails to performed as expected,
but Ignatas Konovalovas comes in 2nd just 3 seconds behied Cornu.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/3-CostaSprintPoint.jpg

Soon it is time for the leaders to take to the course. Costa sets the new best time at the only time check, and is on pace to beat the new leader Oleg Chuzhda who beat Cornu by 7 seconds.
Kessiakoff comes in 8 seconds back of Costa.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/4-CostaFinish.jpg

And Rui Costa does set the best time at 25'07'',
12 seconds ahead of 2nd place Oleg Chuzhda.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20San%20Luis/5-KessiakoffFinish.jpg

Kessiakoff stops the clock at 25'20''. Which is good enough for 4th place. But more importantly he will keep the yellow jersey over Rui Costa by 55 seconds.

Q: Talk about making yourself known within a new team, what are your expectations for yourself as well as for your new team?
A: Personally I want to win a few tours, and at the end of the season I would love to be promoted to the ProTour. As does every rider on this squad, especially my Swed buddies Larsson and Lofkvist.
