Thanks to our coefficient my team picked Sevilla FC for the Play-Off round. Couldnt be much harder ...hope they'll go through. First time european football for us since 1992 where we played against Werder Bremen. This time a real match. |

Actually I am Werder Bremen fan, but as Hannover is much closer I watch some games there every season.
They played a great soccer last season and didn`t lose any important player.
So I really hope they will kick Sevilla`s asses.
Just why a stinky club like Schalke gets an easy pick and Hannover such a big one. ;(
Go 96!

Was in Bremen and Hannover last season, was living 105km south Bremen near Minden, during that time. I'll try to get some tickets for the Euro League when they are on public sale starting 10th august. Might be another 20 years untill we are able to play again international. |

Actually, they have a chance. I watched both Sevilla and Hannover in the last season, and to be fair Sevilla was better a few years ago in my opinion. It's Europe, anything can happen, but I believe that Hannover have a chance.

I hope Hannover will win. But I really doubt it. They play good, no question, but they are not that experienced and there is a question mark behind Ya Konan`s form. I think the only chance would be with him playing brilliant. Although Abdellaoue and Schlaudraff are capable do do well, too, but Ya Konan is less to predict for the defenders and always dangerous.

Hannover will win due to better defence I think. Sevilla had the 4th worst defence in Le Primera last year, letting 61 goals pass. Only Almeria, Sociedad and Malaga did worse.
Hannovers defence wasn't the best, but it's way better than Sevillas.

Sevilla has changed manager, has done decently in the transfer season, and, most important, have signed Nicolás Terrado, who was the ONCE doctor in 1998. It will be hard for Hannover.

Woohooo just a few hours to go. Euro League play-off might be nothing special for most of you here. But considering what happened the last two years to our club and the development we took from there on, coming from being down and depressed. Its just awesome its here tonight
Everyone is fit for us and if Sevilla fields Trochowski we actually have a chance of winning |

I read an interview in L'Equipe this morning, which said more or less the same as other articles I had read previously. Europa League is only attractve for French teams if they reach the quarter-finales, which for most of them would require some serious involvement.
As a result, they use those match to give some time on the pitch to their usual substitutes.
Where's the logic between "our domestic season goal is to qualify for Europa League" and "we don't mind Europa League, the domestic league is way more important".
"Racing is life. Everything before or after is just waiting." |

Maybe it's because they don't have enough depth in their roster, so if they try to actually do something in the EL playing with their usual starting 11 they might struggle in the Ligue 1.
I remember Celta de Vigo were relegated in Spain after doing a very good, for their standards, Champions League. And Real Sociedad just avoided relegation in the same situation, when the previous year they were 2nd in the Primera División.

Nordsjaelland 0-0 Sporting. What a terrible game from Sporting. It's impossible a team to play well when you have Postiga as the striker... and leave Capel and Izmailov in the bench. They had some chances to score in the first half, and one in the second, which Postiga failed to score.
Hannover beating Sevilla so far, but 2-1 isn't the best result.

Braga through to the next stage, after suffering against Young Boys (2-2). They should have done better, and they played against 10 man for the final 20/25 minutes.
Guimaraes and Nacional seem to have no chances, so I hope Domingos tries his best to make Sporting the second portuguese team in the group stage... Being eliminated by Nordsjaelland, a small Danish club, compared to what Sporting is/was, is humiliating (no offense to Danish members).
