Still, they won't be able to keep Cav, will they? Or does he maybe stay at HTC (or whatever it'll be called next year) if they have a new sponsor? How fix is his transfer to Sky?

http://www.greene...management

GreenEdge has a pretty nice site already. And it lists management and sponsors already.

If Cav moves to Sky I will be furious and hope him the worst sprint success even though I am a fan. Jumping ship from a team that has devoted there squad to him for three years would be a slap in the face.

I hope that the new team sponser is still somehow tied to the US, even though they are listed as "international".

After the end of one of the later stages of the Tour, Mike Tomalaris (TDF Commentator) was talking to another Australian (It could of been Phil Anderson or Scott Sunderland, was an Australian with a strong connection to Sky) about the likelyhood of Cavendish going to Sky next year, and he said it was basically a done deal.

Obviously Bob Stapleton found a new sponsor. During the Tour some international companies contacted him.
At the moment it looks like a 3 year contract and a higher budget as last year.

Well, Brian Holm still sounds unsure. In an interview today, he said that he would give Stapleton three more days to come up with a solution.

On the Cavendish subject, he said that Cavendish had given a deadline of a week ... a week ago. So it's not looking bright for those who wish that Cav stays with HTC.

Rolf Aldag also said it´s sure now and only some signatures are missing. For me it looks like they have a sponsor but some good riders already signed contracts with other teams...

Brian Holm is weird then. Wink
Stapleton sounded like it`s for sure and they just have to pick on of the offers.
Also Aldag said in an interview that we can expect a new sponsor in the next 2-3 days. Wink

They still have Martin, Degenkolb, Gretsch and others, that haven`t signed somewhere else yet and would like to stay. Plus the sponsor is expected to have a big budget. So the Velits brothers aren`t necessary leaving. Also Cav is not 100% sure. He said earlier the year that he feels happy with HTC and he has everything he needs there.

Just Van Garderen looks sure for me.

Actually, it was Scott Sunderland and he said He's 100% sure he will be at sky and then mike asked him if he can confirm it, and he said "no i cant but i really want him there"

Scott Sunderland helped get alot of their riders.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has delayed Alberto Contador's case until November 2011.

If you read that it seems, to me at least, that they're just making the case between themselves. I guess that will lead to a trial where nothing shocking will happen or be brought to light. So Contador will get off easy and the UCI will avoid a big scandal.

He signed a 3 year contract with Highroad back in 2008, which expired last year. HTC Highroad only took up a one year option on him at that time, under the same terms as his original contract.

This they were legally entitled to do, but morally it sucks. Mark Cavendish 4 years ago had no TdF stage wins etc. His original contract did not have any bonus clauses in it - so he gets the same basic wage however much he wins.

That's the main reason he decided to look at other options for this year. Of course he's said he would love to stay with Mark Renshaw and Bernie Eisel - they are a potent trio - but it's about time he was approproately rewarded for being the best sprinter and one of best known road race cyclists in the world.
