Contador wins the mass sprint!

I dont know if its just me having the problem, but way to often (mostly during detailed simulation), the big guns tend to win the mass sprint on the flat stages ahead of the big sprinters.
Example: In the Giro Basso won 5 flat stages in a bunch sprint, having Bennati as his lead-out man? ... |

I'm having this shit aswell when actually playing 3D stages.
20% of the time some rider who is relaying at the front before the sprint wins because they are far ahead of the sprinters for the start of the sprint.
Samuel Sanchez and Contador are always garant for a couple of top 10 finishes doing a tour on flat stages aswell.
I really hope Cyanide makes the AI capable of a sprint train for PCM11 |

yes im having same problem in 3D mode the likes of Evans/ Sanchez /contador where beating cavendish/hushovd in the tour de suisse on the flat stages. |

I edit the sprint ratings way down for all but the best sprinters. This has been an issue since 2008 (possibly further back). Editing the stats does help to make this rarer, but it isn't full-proof. |

this doesn't happen to me the same way it happens to you guys. if i do recall though if you change the time gap for stages or the mountain percentage the results will change. |

I belive its just for Cyandie to edit the AI engien. I have the same problem. If i dont make a lead-out train, the climbers win the stage, seeing as the AI don't make lead-out trains

This problem might have something to do with the breaks staying away easier as that would explain the teams not pushing as hard in last kms. |

it never happened to me :S in the end someone like cavendish or hushoved is always better, 1 time i remember contador was on 3rd place in a mass sprint, but never any extreme results... |

Ok I'm like playing with THC and it took six stage wins and two podiums to beat Sammy Sanchez in the green jersey battle. It was 263 - 239 in the end.
He had a top 10 finish in almost every stage except the TTs.
On the other hand, I didn't even need to form a sprint train, putting Cavendish to follow the likes of Devolder, Flecha or Cancellara in the final kms was all I needed. With 2km to go they were like flying 55-60km/h until they were eventually swept by the pure sprinters, but still managed to get some good top 10 finishes.
A total AI fail.
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

I play with Garmin. I won the first couple stages as my sprinters were all top form and healthy and I'm guessing the GC contenders werent all at the front yet. After the Alps conto or sanchez won every stage. Riding on the wheel of thor hushovd and coming around him easily at the end. Going to try and edit their sprint ratings because that is just rediculous. |

Yep, I have the same issues! Whoever wins the first stage stays in the yellow jersey right to the end because they just sprint at the end of each stage and get a Top 10 finish! |

I have to ask if anybody who is in contact with the Cyanide team know if this issue has been taken into account for the next patch or whatever, as I'm sure the problem has been widely brought up.

Editing the stats helps a lot, in stage races this problem is maily because of the low rec stats for the sprinters wich means that they cannot perform well in stage races. You need to give the sprinters just as high rec stats as the stage race riders, fx Cavendish 82 in rec aso. The Pcm daily db is very good. Another thing is, that the fitness program the sprinters have in the game isn´t good. They have very low fitness in the tour fx. You can change this with the full editor, i have done that, and it works very good. In Sta_leader_specialization or something you can edit witch fitness program the sprinters have, and in sta_fitnessprogram_week you can allso edit the fitness programs if you want. I have god pretty good results with that, but it´s very bad that Cyanide has made such a f.... up db.
NB if you edit the rec stat for the sprinters, then remember to edit the new young rider sprinters rec and rec limt stats as well every year, or else the new sprinters will be bad in stage races too.
A last thing. You can allso edit sta_training_exercise so that training in sprints give ekstra points to the rec stat too. |

Sounds like a hell of a lot of work to fix a fault which isn't made by us. Cyanide should fix this. |
