Well, basically, they're probably right. I've yet to find another website that does put up (in English) as much information, race reports, and interviews with riders, as they do.
However. I'm fed up, to the back teeth, of their complete, and utter, lack of literary skills. It's not just a few full stops, or commas, missed here or there. It's a serious, and complete inadequacy to write the Queen's language.
So, in an attempt to alleviate my stress caused my reading such drivel, I want to moan to all of you, and share the awful mistakes that they make.
Here's the first:
"Sassi was part of the youngest member of the team of sports doctors that worked with Francesco Moser when he broke the hour record in 1983."
So, if we read that correctly, Sassi was part of the youngest sports doctor, who in turn was actually on a team of other sports doctors in working with Moser to enable him to break the hour record in 1983. Wow, so Sassi was attached surgically? Or via some other means?
Not quite as bad:
Sassi insisted he fight back and refuses to let his health problems stop him making plans for the future.
Either: Sassi insisted he fought back and refused to let his health problems stop him making plans for the future;
or:
Sassi insists he will fight back and refuses to let his health problems stop him making plans for the future.
I mean, come on, you're the leading cycling website and you can't even cope with keeping things in one tense? It's past, present or future, you can't mix it up. Sheesh.
Anywhoooo. Enough moan from me, feel free to moan along with me, or just ignore me. Whatever.
I'm also sure I'll be posting more incompetance here in the future...

100% Agreed.
Getting riders' names just plain wrong is also a very large disrespect of said riders.
I can understand a type. I can understand if by mistake they type "Friere" once. But a whole article's worth of "Friere" is a massive disrespect to the man.
They do this constantly with a lot of riders. I just mentioned Freire because they do it to him over and over and over and over and over.
Also, this little gem the other day:
(...)as he swept through to take his first win of the season, and the first victory by a Continental rider in the race.
3 out of 5 stages were won by Continental riders in this race. This was stage 5. You do the math.

His Euskaltel-Euskadi team dominated the final five kilometres of the 156km stage and then Urtasun timed his sprint perfectly, coming up on the barriers to pass Angel Vicioso (Andalucia) and Joaquin Sobrino (Seleccion Espana). Australia's Johnnie Walker (Footon-Servetto) finished eighth in the sprint.

Cavendish has dominated the Giro sprints in the last two years and his absence means this year's fast finishes will be wide open. The big showdown will be between Alessandro Petacchi (Lampre-Farnese Vini) and Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Transitions) but Robbie McEwen (Katusha), Baden Cooke (Saxo Bank) and Giro debutant Oscar Freire (Rabobank) will surely be a threat, as will the Team Sky combo of CJ Sutton and Greg Henderson.

Personally, I find the first sentence far more jarring, retarded and just plain wrong

I'm also not sure how they get their info from Dutch sources (google translate, probably), but they very often mistranslate Dutch-spoken interviews. |

On the front page now there is the story about he 4 Days of Dunkirk.
However it says that Ciolek was outpaced by a Dutch fast-man.
But Alex Rasmussen won the Stage and he is Danish.
EDIT: They've changed it to Danish now.
