Hi, I have played Pcm from 2006 version so its my 4th season, and allways before there was no limit as to how great your team could be, but now I seem stuck with a maximum collective monthly rider salary of 700,000 €
I started a custom team with Team Capinordic
I had made some custom riders to ensure I could prosper to Pro tour quickly and have started season 2015 with winning the last 5 Tour De France's and Vuelta Espanias, I have won the pro tour season and cyanide season for 5 years, and for the past 3 I have have had a maxmimum monthly salary of 700,000 even tho I have 6/6 goals every season and win alot more races, almost all in fact.
my real question is do I have to use that "artmoney" to go above that and is that some maximum that is in Real cycling?

A few days ago, someone said that he had found out that there's a maximum percentage that you can increase your wage budget with. So, if you start with a low salary budget, it won't increase very much, no matter what you do.
That said, it's of course possible to change it with ArtMoney. I don't know how, though.
The maximum sponsor income and the maximum wage total (riders only) is 700000€. With no limit it would make unbalanced team with bad behaviours, since you won't be able to manage too much leaders at the same time.
The maximum percentage does not exist. Every team has the same 700000€ income limit. The new income is calculated with the sponsor confidence and the former income. It can not be multiplicated by more than 2, which means a 50k income team could have:
50k in season 1
100k in season 2
200k in season 3
400k in season 4
700k in season 5
but it means that the team had outstanding results during 4 years in a row.
Obviously if the save is cheated by ArtMoney, the game behavior may be wrong.

I don't know where your conclusions are comming from but I can tell one thing - there are not comming from game experience.
I've played 5 seasons with weak Continental Team (last 3 on top of Pro Tour with 2,500 and then over 3,000 pts) and I can ensure you that starting with 50k team you won't get more than 250k. After few seasons it's very hard to make your sponsors happy and at some stage you're simply not getting more money (even with 6 objectives reached and over 3,000 pts) and I've worked out that you can multiply it only around 5 times (don't know what about Pro Tour teams, but probably the same).
You can simlpy check my words by starting new game with any Continental team.
Yeah, you're dead right - he should know... but it looks like he doesn't. No offence Eyolfur but I rather believe what I see on my 15", than what somebody is saying (no matter who he is) and the fact is that I've started with CCC Polsat Polkowice in Continental Tour with 49k / month from my sponsors.
Just to make things clear: 1.0.3.3 patch, 2010 Transfer update V0.1 database, career and gameplay level: hard.
In my first season I've managed to win promotion to Pro Tour (2nd place, 2,802 points) - sponsor's confidence maximum, money rised from 49k to 99k (pretty much like you're saying at this stage).

3rd season

I think that the problem lays in to big connection between sponsor's ambitions and sponsor's money. It's not a secret that if sponsor's ambitions is maximum at the end of the season your money will be doubled, if it's in the middle it will stay the same and so on. Obviously it can't be doubled all the time (even if you're doing very well) and because confidence equals pay rise so after few seasons (when you reach some stage (in my conspiracy theory it's when you get 5 times bigger money that you had at the beginning)) your sponsors are not happy any more in fact they are disappointed that yet again you got 3,200 pts and reached all 6 objectives. I think they should be over the moon with such of result just not giving you bigger money or give you just slightly better deal but that's just my opinion and at the end of the day I work for G4S not Cyanide.
PS. I'm sure that many of you played couple of seasons and noticed that even if you're doing better and better with each season it's harder to please your sponsors. Who knows maybe there's even few people who started in low division and didn't reach 700k after 4 seasons

I'm playing my fifth season and started as a small custom made conti team.
PPDB V2, hard.
I started with 50 something K/year and I've got 149.000 in my fifth season.
First season was 6/6, 3 rd on CT rankings 2163 Pts (I didn't want the promotion first year, so I eased up in september)
Second was 6/6, 2 nd in CT, 2.698 Pts, and that's when I went bankrupt, expecting a doubling of my budget.
After restarting with less ambitious signing campaign, I got 6/6 fifth PT (1.160 pts)
(I had to start back from early July, real pain in hte ass, to end with roughly the same as I'd gotten already)
Fourth year 4/6 1 st PT : 1.586 pts (very narrow win: Astana : 1.573 pts))
And still only 149 K...
However, this is not really a problem, because :
My secondary sponsors pay me around 90 k/year (average)
And with the race gains (including meeting sec sponsor's targets), I can afford run a current deficit of around 150.000 €/month
+ This budget restriction makes the game harder to master, ie I had litterally to let go promising youngsters because I couldn' t afford them anymore, like in real life,
And this is the main raison why I'm still fighting for 1 st in PT in my fifth season, and actually still playing this career.
Hello Again, I have now started the year 2016, I have reached mid may and I have won all pro tour races/classics and alot of continental ones to keep sponsors just at medium, I am leading the Giro and won several stages, yet my sponsor confidence is getting lower and lower, I can only do better by burning out the team before the later important races. I am at this point just getting more and more certain Cyanide didnt plan on poeple going on for that many seasons till they released 2010, so they didnt bother taking it into account with the sponsor/budget part.

it is not much the problem that you have a max. budget, the problem is the sponsors want more and more for their money In my opinion, it could be fixed by setting a "max. expectation" I guess.
