A Great TT for Wiggins today but that was as expected Wink

I was more happy with the fact Froome and Rogers finally showed their faces Wink

BMC's Lelangue says something that indirectly supports Wiggins not peaking too early. He says Evans didn't drink enough and suffered cramps midway through the TT, then the cramps went away after he drank a bit more.

People say crap. But in this case, the splits support that: Evans lost almost a minute and a half in the middle split.

Interesting quote from Wiggins there: “I’ve kept spouting on about this since Paris-Nice and it becomes old hat after a while, but we’re training for July,”. Shows he's not peaking at the Dauphine and will be fully ready for the TdF

Of course he says he´ll peak for the Tour, even if he peaked too early. In a few weeks we´ll know more.

It IS July Grin He never said what part of it Pfft
No, seriously, he's almost certainly trying to peak at the right time in the tour, but peaking isn't math, you can't count on it. People make mistakes and you've got some parameters that influence you. Let's hope he knows what he's doing, though.

It really is, specially if you can afford a Ferrari. Otherwise the whole area of Valencia is good as well.

And good fridges in Girona too.

I never believed in the peaking too early stuff. Well for some riders maybe (who punch above their weight in june and then suck, like Landaluze, mayo etc). But not with riders like Wiggins.

When they are good in june they are good in july

Well, I think Wiggins can win both Dauphiné and Tour. Saturday's stage (I think) will show how Wiggins is in the mountains, at the moment...
Rest in Peace Wouter Weylandt and Xavi Tondo Sad

Hmm I'm on/off about the Tour. Wiggins never convinced me in any GT or stage race which involved serious climbing and not just 1 stage. (like the 1 week tours he wins).

We'll see. He's my favorite for the Tour but only very slightly vs Evans. And then there's 6/7 others who might suprise....

I think Wiggins won't be capable of following the other guys in the Tour mountains, not by his own form but because the other guys like Evans will attack hard in those stages, and Wiggo isn't such a good climber as the other guys.

It definetley happened. On TV they visually showed the replay of his bottle flipping out of his bik at a bump maybe 15 km in. So he was much better after the feed zone.
Winner of American Championship races which I can't remember since my sig was deleted :L

I think they'll all try and drop him, like Scarponi, Rodriguez etc. tried to drop Hesjedal at the Giro. Hopefully they'll succeed Wink

I don't post much in cycling threads but let's look at a bit of history. Wiogins the new Lance? Pfft

2000 United States Tyler Hamilton (USA) US Postal
2001 France Christophe Moreau (FRA) Festina
2002 United States Lance Armstrong (USA) US Postal
2003 United States Lance Armstrong (USA) US Postal
2004 Spain Iban Mayo (ESP) Euskaltel-Euskadi
2005 Spain Iñigo Landaluze (ESP) Euskaltel-Euskadi
2006 United States Levi Leipheimer (USA) Gerolsteiner
2007 France Christophe Moreau (FRA) AG2R Prévoyance
2008 Spain Alejandro Valverde (ESP) Caisse d'Epargne
2009 Spain Alejandro Valverde (ESP) Caisse d'Epargne
2010 Slovenia Janez Brajkovič (SLO) Team RadioShack

Having said that the Giro was most interesting to see riders who peaked pretty well for the Ardennes hold their form all the way to the end of the Giro.
