Joost Dieter, former winner of the Tour de France, made this his last season. He will not only be remember as a winner of the Tour, but also as one of the two riders who helped kickstart the German dominance in France, the other being Arthur Meyer. Even though this great rider retires, it will probably not be the end of the German reign, not with new riders such as Jannes Hoffmann.
Last years Canadian sensation, Tommy Lefebvre, had the eyes of the world on him. There were high hopes for him after last years fantastic results and he didn't dissapoint. Canada hasn't had a dominant rider since the days of Vuelta-winner Ryder Hesjedal, but with Lefebvre winning races such as Tirreno-Adriatico, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and San Sebastian aswell as being 2nd in the CQ-ranking the future looks bright.
Aging supersprinter Arnaud Augereau had a dissapointing season last year by not picking up a single major win except a couple of stage wins. This dissapointing show led to talks of him being to old. However, he came back with a vengeance and won both Milan-Sanremo aswell as the Green Jersey in the Tour. Sadly for him and his supporters though, the Giro was abit of a letdown. Being one of 4 men to have gotten 4 point Jerseys in Italy he was hoping to take the record for himself. This might prove to be tougher then he expected especially with more competition from younger men such as Bush and Mittermeier.
Someone who certainly will be happy about their performance is the Spaniard Moises Aguila. He won both the Giro and Vuelta aswell as the point jerseys in both races and we can only hope we see him in the Tour de France soon. Apropo the Tour, Jannes Hoffmann finally took the final step up among the greats and won the race making it Germanys 4th win. The Brasilian Luiz Mario Kleina shocked everyone by taking a well deserved 2nd place coming ahead of several strong riders such as former winners Kupiainen and Turov.
Osama Al Shahravi has established himself among the top riders in the world by yet again having a great Vuelta. In two Vuelta appearances he now has a 3rd and 4th place, which is something special when you come in ahead of Kupiainen and former Vuelta-winner Wilmer Jimenez from Colombia. Jimenez was the last rider of the "Colombian era" to win a Grand Tour, but with an impressive show from youngling Elvis Soto, one wonders if we are looking at the beginning of yet another GT-winner from the South American nation.

Oh, and if you are wondering why Gillen Erleaga (ESP) hasn't won anything yet, then it's because he's only 27 years old. He had 80MO and 78 TT when he was 23, but the rules of the game states that no rider can win a Grand Tour before the age of a gazillion.

Well, they both come from my "academy"  I've been using my team as a breeding ground for talents. I have 6 scouts all over the world searching for future greats. If I find some, I sign them and train for about 2 season untill they have stats around 75. Then I let them go to new teams.
It's kinda fun for me to see one of my boys make it big

Exactly! I guess my greatest export so far has been Gabrielle Cinzia. Kupiainen and Erleaga might be good too, but I have a bad feeling.

Go Mario Kleina Great 2nd place in the Tour, could you post his palmares of 2030? What sort of rider is that anyway, a climber who is very good on prologues but can't TT at all
Also look in the best PRL riders, most of them aren't good time-trialists neither good sprinters.. bit of a fail by the game here

Rein Taaramäe did turnout to be a bit of a letdown. He was one of the riders who I thought would make it (kinda) big as I progressed, but he didn't achieve a single noteworthy result. He switched teams relatively often and was switching between being in the Continental Division and the World Tour every other season.

His only result in 2030 except for the 2nd place in the Tour was a 16th in Tour du Romandie.
The stats of generated riders is a big problem in the game. Around 2025 there was hardly a single guy who could climb aswell as timetrial. The guy with the best TT-stat had 76MO and 72TT. Beside from that every single GC-rider was like Andy Shleck only worse.
It's a bit better now because I've been actively scouting for riders who will be good in both.

As usual the season starts with Santos Tour Down Under and as usual we got a new winner. This year it was Italian Raffaele Paces turn to win it giving us our 20th winner in just as many seasons.
The spring part of the season didn't give us any big surprises either with Tadgh Holland proving himself yet again by winning Tirreno-Adriatico. Thies Klaasen, the flying Dutchman, was the first rider since Rik Van Looy to win all three Flanders-classics in the same year and has been a major force for years now. He didn't acheieve that same performance, but did win both Gent-Wevelgem and Ronde van Vlaanderen. Paris-Roubaix was won by German Kevin Kraus with Klaasen coming 2nd. Klaasen thus writes his name in the history books; his win in RVV was his 4th which equals Tosh Van Der Sandes record and he was also the 3rd rider to win 2 Flanders-classics, but come 2nd in the third one.
The Giro brought some shocking news when former winner Gabrielle Cinzia announced his retirement at the age of 31. He certainly showed that he had alot to give still when he came 2nd behind fellow countryman Alessio Lella. In the Tour former winner Aleksandr Kupiainen was back and grabbed his 2nd win ahead of Moises Aguila. After Aguilas Giro-Vuelta double last year many, including myself, was hoping to see him in the Tour. He did enter, but could only manage a 2nd place.
The Vuelta on the other hand gave us two new names in two top spots on the podium. Spaniard Pablo San Domingo came ahead of Canadian Xavier Paradis, thus making them the two youngest podium-finishers in a Grand Tour for many years. Being only 24 and 24 years of age, these two will be someone to watch out for.
