Doesn't look very promising for Cav ahead of the Olympics. Greipel looks far superior to him on the climbs at the moment.

Greipel,Sagan, Goss, all of them are far better on the hills, but there is still some time left, or he is taking it easy today to win in London.

But, TT ability surely helps with a leadout?

The home crowd will help Cavendish for sure. But Greipel must be up there, I wonder if Sagan is going? Anyone know?

Box Hill is nothing like this climb.

There's 40km flat after last hill.

This will encourage Germany to help Britain in chasing breaks as it looks Greipel is stronger at this moment than Cavendish.

Overall, Greipel and Sagan must be favourites but Box Hill is nothing like this and people underestimating Cav may help him.

So i assume the green jersey will not be won in the office right? If Peter will make it to Paris, the green will be well deserved and not won because of Goss point deducation yesterday. Cool

I think if the score was close still, GE might have put a bit more effort into getting him over the line. The attack of Albasini was proof that they weren't 100% for Goss today.

But we don't want to get into "what if's", so full marks to Sagan, he deserves it.

He had to block out Impey to get it.

He is obviously Wink But he won't have any team-mates to help him .

However I could see Czech riders aiding him in his pursue of gold, maybe.

Not at all. His leadout had its flaws and as we saw his teammate didn't even win.

As I said in the Olympics thread, I don't think Cav saw any need to keep up with the main group or to get back anyways, as his team practically rode against him / for EBH.

I wonder which Liquigas riders who aren't riding for big favourites are going.

Peraud and Sagan could be at the mix there in MTB race, there is long break between the road and cross country.

Tony Gallopin? He abandoned earlier today.

Did he start the stage?

That's strange, I could have sworn I read somewhere form Alakagom is not mistken, that Jack Bobridge couldn't ride the Olympics TT because he was riding track, and was not allowed two events. Frown

Has Sagan ridden a MTB race at all recently?

I was just kidding. His track backround surely helped there. And EBH isn't as good of a sprinter as Sagan or Greipel.

It isn't a matter of being allowed, it just isn't recommended because of the different typpes of effort required in track and road cycling. Plus by riding both you'd be too tired to do well in them.

I don't think so Pfft

The only thing I said about something similar is that riders have to be included in road race to participate in time-trial.
