But it wasn't a penatly because if you look closely he doesn't even sees the ball when it hits his arm.

If you make a sliding like that, you take the risk of making hands.

That's enough to give a penalty according to the rules.

No, it's not. It was clearly not deliberate, so not enough.

In an interview with AD (Dutch newspaper) the leader of the Dutch refrees said that these kind of actions are a penalty according to the rules, but rarely get given. Deliberate or not, taking a risk of making hands (by lying down) is enough to give one.

Anyway, on-topic, if Greece can win this I'll be rooting for them for the rest of the group stage Grin

That shows that the Dutch referees don't know the rules, because they say nothing about that.

So, will Poland now bother to try to win? This should be a turning point, morale-wise.

I can't believe that the UEFA still doesn't do anything against these ridiculous red card and penalty kick.. Punish a team twice..

Too bad Poland doesn't win it, they haven't got a clue against the defense and the defense of Poland isn't good enough.. Why Smuda trusts Boenisch (who is often injured and if he is injured then for a long time) and put him into the centre someone sub-par left wing defenseman..
But when you have someone like him there, then something is wrong with the talents.. They got good players like the Szczesny, Pisczek, Blaszczykowski or Lewandowski.. But in the creative part there are not enough players.
