Was that a WT race?
Look at the results! I guess that's what happens when the TDF is on.
Don't look at results or startlist if you didn't watch the race And to be honest, the podium is very impressive here. 3 very exciting and future talents.
Whole week racing has been superb here. This was quite amazing race this year with no clear favourite ! One of the best stage races this year imo in terms of excitement and attacks.
I did. the race was awesome, but that doesn't make it WT.
What does then ?
Great field ? Becasue I've seen lots of them this year and very few stage races with top field delivered much excitement.
And anyway this field was rich in talent, and there were few stars like Boonen or Hushvod, but both abandoned.

TdP has the profile to it's advantage. In Poland there are no long slopes where everyone is watching each other - well, except for one or two maybe but they will never be a cycling venue due to poor tarmac and environmental reasons. Instead we get a lot of short but very sharp climbs - something like an Ardennes classic on sterides. And it makes people want to attack - for there are a lot of opportunities and in the end even few seconds can make a difference. Last year for example when Sagan had to fight on sprints toget the win after the last stage, |

Few points for next year's race.
One day longer and between 27 July to 3 August.
It begins in Italy, more specifically Trentino

How do they do that? From Italy to Poland in 8 days? What, 3 stages in Italy then rest day, then 3 stages in Poland?

Check here my story with Qantas, the new Down Under hope:

Okay, I new this would get you
There's few rumours but it should be something like this :
Saturday and Sunday two stages in Italy, Trentino. Tough, mountain stages. Rumoured MTF to be Madonna di Campiglio, but it's not confirmed yet.
Monday - Rest Day and transfer to Poland
Rest 5 stages in Poland - route not know yet

That's so... odd. If they want bigger mountains they could enter the Czech Republik or Slovakia. Or go to the Morskie Oko (there could be environmental issues here though).
Or climb Sniezka.

Well obviously they have to transfer from Italy to Poland and that will take some time too do...
However silly this sounds - it will get the race more prestige, it's on better date now and will progress the race in better direction.

Hmm, indeed. But I guess more money for the race and more prestige as well
Morskie Oko - would be freaking epic ! But it's not going to happen because as you said of environmental issues and Poland strict rule on that. Now, even no bikes are allowed there after few accidents with tourists few years ago ...
Sniezka ? Epic again, but well it's only suited for mountain bikes

Yeah Sniezka was a joke obviously. It'd be freaking epic though. It's really too bad about the Morskie Oko, it'd be an stunning MTF (it's among my list of 'to go' places next year when I'll be in Poland), but preserve those places it's far more important than a bike race.
I still find a bit odd that the Trentino region is paying for a start there. Good for the race I guess.

Alakagom already said everything bout Morskie Oko and Sniezka. But Przelecz Karkonoska from Czech side? Why not. Altough I would rather have it from Polish side as this is the sharpest climb we have:

Combine that with few rouns onto Karpacz (this year's first stage)...
EDIT - Trentin is promoting heavily in Poland as a destination - everyone wins on this decision. And I hope it will come out on the good side. But I'm afraid the race may be decided to early because of that.

What's more Lang said that next editions also can be started outside the Polish. He said he has offers from different countries including France. |

I went searching for climbs profile from neighbour countrys of Poland and I think this one is really insteresting:
The Passo Vrsic in Slovenia.

8.2% over 9.4 km with a maximum percentage of 12%. A brutal climb.

Well Slovenia is as much of a neighbour to Poland as Italy is.
