Gilbert had a puncture and very slow change of wheel. With Langeveld now, and one BMC rider to help, should get easily back though.

Vacansoleil's contracts catch more dopers than drug testing.

Vanmarcke is looking stronger imo. He'll need to drop Tommeke if he wants to win though, and that won't be easy.

Boonen also seems to be doing a lot of work. I think he might be pushing himself too early

As is usual for weekends of racing I am following this one on streams and with live text from cyclingnews and a local site with a translator:

Just had this translated:
Vanmarcke really hurt to Boonen and Flecha on the Lange Munt, but both men are well hung.

Smile

Tommeke went too soon. And Vanmarcke is awesome, he was incredibly strong today.

Ah, how well it feels that the actual season starts with great racing. Smile

I wouldn't have picked Vanmarcke winning, he was really aggressive today, and did well beating Booneen in the sprint. I didn't see the last 5km's, the stream I was watching kept disconnecting Frown

Never expected Boonnen to be beat by Vanmarcke in a sprint like that, what a win for him. Great, the lad has a lot of potential. Good start from Flecha too in the cobbled season as always.

I surely shouldn't had to bet on Flecha... Embarassed

OT: Great ride by Vanmarcke, he surely puts himself in the spotlight with this one.
