Hi there, I've been playing cycling manager for the first time. I think its awesome fun! So major credit to the developers!
I was thinking for developing a database cyclist searcher. For example if you wanted to search for a cyclist with minimum stats in hills, their age range, minimum potential, salary etc etc.
Would you find something like this useful?
It would be developed in .NET. |

You can use an editor to open your savegames in Excel, like the Full Editor or Excel Editor, then use all the filters that Excel allows you to use
Plus, I think even the in-game search offers the possibility to combine filters and get a result somewhat like what you want.

But if you're looking for a project to work with, I've always hoped that someone would make something like this for the newer versions of the game

Wow! The screen shot looks awesome! I had a quick go at opening it, it crashed. I'll have another go later. |

You have to load a DB from PCM 2007 (sorry if that was obvious and if the crash occurred before even loading something).

As far as I remember, it doesn't work too well with newer versions of Windows.

Yeah I had a bit of time to look at it and got it to work. He's using library files I've not heard of though (never mind used).. Is he not an active user these days?
Regardless, I'll get started on a bit of something from scratch, probably start by parsing one of Lachi's XML cyclist files with basic search functionality tonight.
Lachi, would you mind if I borrowed your technique for reading the database? It would give the user a more.. pleasant experience if that's ok :-) |

Jape's latest login is in June 2012, so I suppose he's somewhat active. He hasn't posted since 2010, though.

Hmm, just seen, I've pm'ed him for the source code. We never know maybe he may get a boost!! We will see what happens :-) |

Attached is a screen shot of what I was working on tonight. It's super bleeding edge, some results don't make sense (parsed then wrong fields, but it was made in an evening.. :-) ) So as you can see, I've searched for 70 flat, hill, mountains, fighter with relevant results. T.De.Gendt looks good, so he's going in the team! ^-^
I hard coded the rider potential for personal fun. I'll put that in the UI at some point.
If anyone wants a snap shot let me know, otherwise I'll keep adding to it.

What technique do you mean? Just send me a PM, you can get the code of the projects if you want.
