In some versions of PCM, e.g. the downloaded version, only few languages are available. With this guide, you can learn how to activate your language.
It's all very simple, actually. It's a matter of changing one file, one called DL_Average.nif. You can find it in your main PCM-folder/Domelights. Normally, it's located like this: C:\Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2008\DomeLights. If you can't find it, search for the file name (DL_Average.nif) using Windows Search. When you have found it, open it with Notepad.
Depending on your version, you will now see something like this: <version> <param aso="1" RAD_All="0" RAD="0" distributor="kemedia-sk" versioninfo="gold" /> <language english="1" french="0" german="0" dutch="0" italian="0" spanish="0" danish="1" polish="0" russian="0" portuguese="0" norvegian="1" japanese="0" czech="0" /> </version>
This particular example is based on the KE-Media version released in Scandinavia. All the "0" means that this language is inactive while "1" represent the active languages. So, let's say you're living in Germany, but went on holiday to Denmark and bought the game - you can activate the German language by changing the "0" to "1". Save with Notepad, and there you go, German is selectable from the Options menu.
That's it. |
